Project management professionals are vital to companies everywhere and are needed in practically every profession – from construction to communications to the tech industry. As a result, the need for employees who can maximize productivity while minimizing resources is high on company priority lists across the nation.
Our Project Management Program is designed to enhance your skillset with an empowering set of tools that’ll help you successfully contribute to the efficiency and growth of your company. Regardless of which industry or specialization you decide to pursue, you’ll be fully prepared take a lead role on whatever task lies in front of you.

Students can take all five courses and receive a certificate of completion, or just the courses needed for skill development and improvement.

Program Outline and Requirements
If you wish to receive a certificate of completion, you must complete all six courses with a grade of "credit" in each course - all courses are graded on a credit/no credit basis and carry continuing education units (CEUs). These courses are not eligible to be applied towards a degree unless permitted by a university. To receive a grade of "credit" you must achieve a 70% or higher.
CSU Bakersfield Extended Education course hours can be applied towards the education requirements for Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI®). For more information about the PMP® certification from PMI®, please review the requirements on the PMI website.
Tuition and Fees
The following are estimated costs for the Project Management Certificate Program.
Typical costs are as follows:
Courses are $400 each, except for PJMX 8020, which is $500.
Courses can be taken individually as desired. A certificate is available to students that complete all six courses. Cost listed is for all six courses / full certificate.
Payment Options
There are two payment options for your convenience:
- Pay the full course fee amount at the time of registration.
- Sign up for the Tuition Deferment Plan, which allows you to spread the cost of your classes over a longer period of time.
Note: Program is not eligible for FAFSA-based financial aid.
