California State University, Bakersfield has been ranked among the top 50 best online master's in curriculum and instruction by Top Education Degrees.
CSUB came in at number 39 in the Top Education Degrees rankings. Top Education Degrees awarded points based on tuition value, student-to-faculty ratio, and national recognition, with bonus points awarded for a special tuition discount for online students. The rankings were created using the National Center for Education Statistics' College Navigator database.
"The Master of Arts program in Curriculum and Instruction at CSU Bakersfield prepares educational leaders to transform systems of education for all students," said Dr. Kristina LaGue, CSUB professor and teacher education department chair. "Our outstanding faculty engage graduate students in dynamic, online courses in the fields of educational leadership, curriculum transformation, social justice, inclusion, and equity. Students are guided to critically explore seminal and current research in the field of educational leadership, and they gain knowledge and skills to lead educators towards positive change."

In announcing the rankings, Top Education Degrees said, “With a student-to-faculty ratio of 24 to 1, CSU Bakersfield's online Master of Arts in Education: Curriculum and Instruction is a 30-credit hour program that includes coursework in educational leadership and curriculum development and transformation. (CSUB) offers a reading and literacy added authorization with this program. They are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Senior College and University Commission.”
