The Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) at CSU Bakersfield is a dynamic degree that provides a solid foundation in computer science and software engineering. The program allows you to complete your degree in less time while also touching on a breadth of technical areas including data structures, algorithms, operating systems, math and probability, programming languages, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more.

Students who earn this degree are prepared to contribute as developers for companies across a variety of business verticals, including electronics, energy, robotics, transportation, computer games, and other software-related fields. This program will teach you both the fundamental concepts behind technology and how to use it to make an impact. You'll graduate prepared to write your own code and solve problems in all layers of today's complex software systems and networks.

The MSCS is an on-campus, hands-on program. The GRE scores are not required for admission. Thesis and project options are both available in the program and the electives are designed in response to industry needs. 
 

Admission Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Computer Science and Math Prerequisites
GPA: 3.0 in the last 60 semester units of undergraduate coursework
GMAT or GRE Exams: Not required
