B.A. in Communications

It’s not just what you say, it’s how you say it.

It seems like every other day we see a share-worthy tweet or Facebook post from a known or even not-so-known brand. And as social media networks and digital landscapes continue to expand, so will the need for communications professionals with a unique point of view.

B.A. in Communications students will follow a Public Relations or Journalism path, with the degree focusing on knowledge of communications processes, an expected proficiency in writing and practice, awareness of professional responsibilities, knowledge of ethical practices, and familiarity with laws governing the use of mass media.

Graduates will be armed with the skills and creativity to lead fulfilling careers… becoming journalists, public relations professionals, marketing professionals, bloggers, writers and social media managers to name a few.

*Degree is offered via a mix of online and in-person classes at the College of the Canyons campus in Santa Clarita.

60 transferable units from an accredited college
2.0 GPA in all college coursework
Area A and B4 of general education requirements completed (it is advised that all lower division general education be completed prior to admission to ensure timely program completion)
One official transcript from each college attended
Completed CSUB Extended Education Undergraduate application
$75 application fee
